NIO
NIO is the most affordable tracker on the market, as it costs just £40. It is not strictly a GPS tracker as it uses blue tooth technology to communicate with your mobile phone. It has been designed to protect your valuables, but it could work equally well on children when you go to the supermarket.
From one recharge NIO will last for several weeks. When you attach it to an item an alarm will sound on your mobile phone and on the NIO tracker when it goes out of a 20 meter range.
Unlike GPS trackers, because this works using blue tooth it will work on the underground, or places where a GPS signal cannot be received.
NIO is not targeting as the ‘rescue’ crowd, but more at protecting your day to day items. For instance, you could put the tracker in your suitcase or laptop bag and if someone tries to take it, when you’ve placed it under your seat, when you try getting away a loud alarm will sound so you can go and reclaim it. In a similar way, if you’re a bit forgetful like me it isn’t unlikely that you might leave your belongings in a cafe or restaurant by mistake. With NIO when you move away an alarm will sound so that you remember to go back and get them!
NIO will therefore help protect you against loosing your items as well as saving you valuable time by not needing to retrace your steps to find them later.
NIO is really small so you could even use it to look after your car keys. NIO is around the same size as a remote lock for your car.
NIO is highly suited for businessmen or those carrying around lots of information. I think the government should have issued their staff with them so they can stop leaving private data on the train or bus.
